Scientists of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering fruitfully cooperate with units of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, in in particular, with the Institute of Electrodynamics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Scientific cooperation takes place with many departments of this institute, which confirmed by compatible publications in scientific journals and compatible reports at scientific conferences.
Professors of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering (Shcherba A.A., Boyko V.S. Senko V.I.) are members of the scientific council of this research institute. In turn, scientists of the Institute of Electrodynamics are actively involved in conducting scientific seminars at the Department of theoretical electrical engineering of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Scientific research is carried out in the laboratories of the KPI them. Igor Sikorsky, institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, National Technical University "Kharkov Polytechnic Institute", CJSC Yuzhkabel Plant (Kharkov), Sumy State University, universities and institutes of France, England and other European countries.
Over the past seven years, the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering has had fruitful cooperation with Sumy State University, performing joint research with the problem associated with the development of the theory of analysis of energy conversion processes in electromechanical systems of water supply networks. The academic staff of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering of Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Department of Applied hydroaeromechanics of Sumy State University developed electrical models of electromechanical systems, take into account the interrelated energy transformations in the latter, allows to achieve maximum energy efficiency of water supply networks with the necessary hydroflows.
The department constantly cooperates with the State Enterprise "All-Ukrainian State Scientific-Production Center standardization, metrology, certification and consumer protection" (SE "Ukrmetrteststandart") for scientific research of the State Standard 750 kV class ultra-high voltage, based in the high-voltage laboratory of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering.
