Laboratories
The educational process at the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering is provided by a number of laboratories in which research of electrical devices and circuits is carried out in accordance with the course programs. Laboratory workshop for the courses "Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering", "Electrical Engineering" takes place in laboratories 203-20, 207-20, 208-20, 211-20, for the courses "Electrical Engineering and Fundamentals of Electronics" in 213-20, 128-20, for the courses "Electronics" in the laboratory 212-20, for the course "Electric machines" in 128-20. The department includes the best in Ukraine high-voltage laboratory, as well as the world-famous space laboratory for thermal vacuum testing of satellites.
In the laboratories of the department, students have the opportunity to study electrical circuits of direct and alternating current, three-phase circuits, circuits with distributed parameters, non-linear DC and AC circuits, transients in linear electrical circuits, electric machines of alternating and direct current. Learn to obtain graphs of electric and magnetic fields. Explore and calculate power interaction between current circuits and electromechanical systems (electric motors, electric generators, transformers, coils with ferromagnetic core).
Students study the operating modes of electrical equipment and conduct research on electricity conversion devices (rectifiers, inverters, filters, etc.). They study analog electronics (transistor amplifiers, circuits with operational amplifiers), investigate elements of pulse and digital electronics (electronic switches, digital logic devices), differentiating and integrating circuits.
In laboratories, students learn to adjust electrical circuits, work with electrical meters, use electronic oscilloscope for the study of fast processes.
In the high-voltage laboratory, both laboratory workshops and the research work of masters and postgraduate students is carried out, a number of important problems of the electric power industry are being solved. The capabilities of the laboratory of the department allow students and postgraduate students to conduct world-class experimental research and successfully publish the results of their work in top international journals, which are part of such international citation databases like Scopus and Web of Science Core Collection.
