Scientific School of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering

Scientific supervisor of the school: doctor of technical sciences, professor Ostroverkhov Mykola Yakovych, head of the department of theoretical electrical engineering.

The school was founded in the 1950s by Academician of the NAS of Ukraine (1988), Laureate of the State Prize (1982), Vice-rector for scientific work of the KPI (1959-1969), Head of the Department of Theoretical Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering (1950-1989), Chizhenko Ivan Myronovych.

Currently, studies at the school are carried out in the following scientific areas, which are headed by followers of I. Chizhenko:

  • "Theory of unsteady electrophysical processes in the energy sector", leader: corresponding member of the NAS of Ukraine, professor of the department theoretical electrical engineering A. A. Shcherba;
  • "Study of modulation-type semiconductor converters", supervisor: Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Department of Theoretical electrical engineers V. I. Sen'ko;
  • "Electrotechnical control systems in the conditions of uncertainty of a mathematical model of an object", supervisor: Doctor of Technical Sciences, Head of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering M. Y. Ostroverkhov;
  • "Compensation-type electric power converters", supervisor: Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering V. S. Boyko;
  • "Systems and methods for the targeted identification of electrical objects", supervisor: doctor of technical sciences, professor of the department theoretical electrical engineering A. M. Silvestrov;
  • "High voltage engineering and electrophysics", supervisor: Doctor of Technical Sciences, professor of the Department of Theoretical Electrical Engineering V. O. Brzhezytskyy.

Within the framework of the school 72 candidate and 19 doctoral dissertations are defended; 125 monographs, textbooks and teaching aids were issued; published about 800 scientific works in professional publications; received more than 100 documents of title to intellectual property; 53 scientific articles included in the Scopus scientific database. The works of school scholars cited 239 times in Scopus, in particular Shcherba A.A. has a Hirsch index of 14, and Shcherba M.A. - 6.

High scientific achievements of scientists of the school were awarded prestigious state awards, including: Chizhenko I.M., Sen'ko V.I., Rudenko V.S., Shcherba A.A. - Laureates of the State Prize of Ukraine; Peretyatko Yu.V., Shcherba M.A. - Laureates of the Presidential Prize for young scientists; Boyko V.S., Sen'ko V.I. and Shcherba A.A. - laureates of the prize to them.
